Om Sirkka-Liisa Marjatta Uusimäki

I am employed here at the Department of Education and Special Needs Education as an Associate Professor in Pedagogy.

Based on my commitment to teaching and Learning I was awarded the title as an Excellent Teacher in 2018 by the Faculty of Education here at the University of Gothenburg. I firmly believe placing student learning at the centre of what I do - it is the reason why I work as an educator.

My PhD thesis, Pre-service teacher education and the development of middle school teacher identity: An exploratory study I completed at the Queensland University of Technology Australia in 2010.

My extensive background and experiences as a Teacher Educator and Researcher from Australia and Sweden has provided me with wonderful opportunities to combine my research interest with that of teaching.

Research interest include,internationalisation, cross-cultural studies, mentoring/supervision, identity, educational psychology, and pedagogical and educational leadership.
