About Åse Hansson

Research Interests
My research interests include issues of mathematics teaching in multilingual groups. Through my research, the importance of responsibility between teachers and students is highlighted. Specifically I study how key aspects of teacher responsibilities are embodied in the teaching and what impact this has on students´ mathematics achievements. The individualized mathematics instruction with emphasis on the student's "own work" is critically examined from a diversity and equity perspective.

Teaching Interests
I mainly teach in the Special Teacher Education Program, specialization in mathematics. I also supervise theses in this program. Special Teacher Education Program is an education at advanced level. Some teaching I also have in the Teacher Training and Pedagogy Programs.
